Management of the Adansi North District Assembly has visited the Enable Youth Factory (EYF) Project at Bobriase, a community in the District.
The Enable Youth Entrepreneurship programme under the 1D1F is an innovation in the whole of Africa to address the unemployment menace in African countries and also aims at supporting young graduates to develop and sustain their own agricultural sector businesses.
According to the District Coordinating Director (DCD), Okrah Thomas Kwame, the visit is to gather first hand information at the factory site to enable Management of the Assembly make the necessary preparations for the commissioning of the factory.
By the observation of the visiting team, the factory which is set to produce cassava flour for export has all major machines and equipment installed. But, for the compound of the factory which needs to be put into good shape, the factory is ready for operation.
The DCD therefore, tasked respective departments of the District Assembly and other stakeholders to take up specific responsibilities he assigned them to ensure that the place becomes conducive for use.
The Cassava Processing Factory is among the 32 EYF projects that are ready for commissioning before the end of the year. In view of this, a Management Board has been constituted and mandated to see to the smooth operations of the projects.
The Director also hinted that, cassava sticks have been procured and would soon be available to farmers to plant in order to be able to feed the factory with its main raw material.
