ADANSI NORTH DISTRICT ASSEMBLY MARKS GHANA’S 67TH INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY IN A COLOURFUL DURBAR

The Adansi North District Chief Executive, Hon. Kusi Kwaku Eric has advised all students to be serious with their academic work and refrain from social vices that will prevent them from reaching the height they aspire to, in society. The Hon. DCE said this during Ghana’s 67th independence anniversary celebration held at the Fomena Methodist School Park.

Hon. Kusi Kwaku Eric urged all to uphold and defend Ghana’s democracy and cherish the freedoms that it is associated with, to correspond with the theme for the celebration, ‘Our Democracy, Our pride’ whiles he encouraged the people of Adansi to work together across party lines and ethnic divides, to build a stronger and more inclusive democracy that serves the needs of all Ghanaians.

He applauded the District Education Directorate, the 2023 Basic Education and West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examination (BECE/WASSCE) candidates for their outstanding performances as well as Asare Bediako S.H.S for placing 3rd in the National Robotic Competition and Fomena T.I Ahmadiyaa for winning the National Safe School Logo Competition.

Hon. Kusi, Kwaku Eric announced that, the Adansi North District Assembly is 20years and preparations are underway to celebrate the 20th Anniversary and called on all stakeholders both home and abroad to throw their support behind the Assembly to have a befitting celebration that would reflect the impact of the Assembly in the District.

Students from the Basic, Secondary and Tertiary levels marched to commemorate the Day. Fomena Nursing and Midwifery Training College won the tertiary category, Dompoase SHS came 1st in the SHS category with Asare Bediako placing 2nd. Agogooso D/A came 3rd in the JHS category whiles Dompoase Demonstration and Medoma D/A won the 1st and 2nd place respectively. The primary school category was won by Abu Bonsra D/A with Lovely Child and Old Edubiase Primary winning the 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

Special awards were given to some students, teachers, schools and staff of the District Assembly and Agencies for their outstanding performances.
